Each classroom has a daily routine to help children feel secure. Our positive behavior supports program reinforces this by having classrooms display a picture schedule of daily activities. This schedule is used in many ways, one of them being a visual reminder of what comes next throughout the day.
Twice a year, children’s skills and interests are assessed, and curriculum is planned around the needs of the individuals and the group. Teachers build curriculum from a similar foundation. Classroom lesson plans will make available a wide variety of activities in the following areas: pre-literacy, pre-math, language, cognition, science, drama, art, music, health/safety, large motor and fine motor skills. All ages will include a focus on self-help, independence and social-emotional development.
Parent/Teacher conferences are held twice per year and may be requested by parents at other times throughout the year.
