As the 2025 - 2026 school year is quickly approaching, I want to express my sincere appreciation for the incredible support and commitment of our CLC community. Our Board of Directors, teachers, and families have dedicated tremendous effort to our program throughout the years. Your attendance at school events, contributions to fundraisers, help in recognizing our school, and positive daily interactions have all been instrumental in another successful year for our students.

The summer months at CLC offered a more relaxed pace for both our school and families. Summer activities involve gardening, water days, special arts and crafts, and cherishing these fleeting moments that seem to pass by all too quickly. As we approach the beginning of a new school year, saying goodbye to our oldest students as they embark on a new journey can be a bittersweet experience filled with a variety of emotions for all of us. We then get the chance to welcome new children into our classrooms and begin the journey once again. As parents and caregivers navigate the new school year, the adjustment process can cause stress for children and families as new routines begin to form in the classrooms. When children leave for the day, I often hear their caregivers inquire about their favorite activities, which are frequently outdoor recess and favorite foods. Sometimes, a child simply replies, "I just played today." It's important to remember that in early childhood, play is their primary and vital role.

Early childhood education lays the crucial foundation for a child's lifelong learning and development. By providing stimulating environments and age-appropriate instruction, it fosters cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth during a period of rapid brain development. This early investment leads to improved academic performance, enhanced problem-solving skills, greater social competence, and better overall well-being, ultimately contributing to a more prosperous and equitable society.

There's a unique joy and excitement in early childhood that we often lose as we grow. It's the "Magic in the Bubbles," where simple things spark wonder. Imagine a world where we retain that zest for life, embracing mindfulness, living in the moment, and appreciating our surroundings. I encourage CLC parents and teachers to join their children's adventures, experiencing the world through their eyes. After 30 years immersed in this "Magic in the Bubbles," filled with laughter and silliness, I believe our world would be better if we all embraced this childlike perspective. Let's rediscover the wonder together!

Take a moment, step back from the rush, and truly immerse yourself in the world of young children. Their uninhibited curiosity, boundless imagination, and genuine wonder at the simplest things are a wellspring of pure magic. See the world through their eyes—a leaf becomes a treasure, a puddle an ocean, and a cardboard box a spaceship. In their presence, you'll find an invitation to rediscover joy, shed cynicism, and embrace a perspective that reminds us of life's endless possibilities. Don't just observe; participate in their enchanting reality. You might just find a piece of yourself you didn't realize was missing.

The CLC & CLC South team of educators welcome our families and students to a new school year! Thank you for trusting CLC & CLC South with your amazing tiny humans!
